Searching for Certainty
What Scientists Can Know About the Future
by John L. Casti (1990), William Morrow and Company, New York
hardcover, 496 pages (out of print)

|
John Casti is one of the most prolific and
readable writers dealing with the issue of what can we know. He is a mathematician, and
approaches his topics with mathematical logic. Nevertheless, his style and facility
in discussing complex issues make this book (and others by Casti) worth the effort to
find. This book is out of print. However, if you can find a copy in the
library, the chapter on "shaping up" is especially interesting, and includes
further discussions on catastrophe theory. If you have a copy or are looking for a
copy, please use our feedback form and we will try and match
your needs. |
