The Nature of Human Values
by Milton Rokeach (1973), Free Press, New York
hardcover, 438 pages (out of print)

|
With the possible exception of Gordon Allport, no
researcher is better known or more quoted in the field of value studies. There is
probably no book more important for understanding the background of today's value work,
even though we may disagree with many of Professor Rokeach's findings. This is a rich
text that includes much of Professor Rokeach's research and explanations of that
research. It is now a difficult book to find, but it is worth the effort.
