This is where all of our work started. Unfortunately, many of the resources listed below will be difficult to come by because the books are out of print. It is our experience that most research in the area of values has come to a halt. There are thousands of books and articles in print, but most assume that the value words they use are self-evident and they tend to be more normative rather than research focused. The following books may also have a bit of the normative feel to them, but they have proven important in trying to understand the relationship between values and behavior.
