Individual Value Analysis

Why do people do what they do?

People do things for a lot of different reasons.  One major reason, however,  is that we all are born programmed with a set of values that strongly influence specific behaviors.  Society, of course, has a huge impact on the expression of those values.

Why are you happier sometimes than at others?

When you are working in harmony with your values, there is less conflict within yourself -- less stress.  Less stress and less conflict can make things easier and make you happier.  If these values are also in harmony with social or organizational norms, stress and conflict are also reduced.

Why would a person want to know their values?  Don't we already know what is important to us?

Most people are quite clear as to what is important to them.  But values and what is important to you are not the same thing.   Things that are important to you could be a nice home or a new car or improved relationships.  None of those are values.  Values "sit behind" what is important to us.  For instance, the desire for a new home could be based on the values of shelter or economic prosperity.  "New and improved" personal relationships could be based on a wide variety of values, including values around physical relationships, values around family, or values around friendship in general.

The CedarCreek Value Survey (CVS)

We would like to offer you the opportunity to take the CVS. Understanding your value chart can be incredibly rewarding.  Issues that may have been unclear can be better understood.  Perhaps you are unhappy in your job.  Perhaps your company is pressing you to express values that are not very important to you. That could explain your discontent.  Perhaps you and your significant other are at odds with one another.  That could be because your value directions are different.

The CVS provides a simple and easy to understand methodology for learning more about yourself and the energies behind why you do what you do.

Normally, the CVS is done as part of large organizational studies.

What do you receive when you take the CedarCreek Values Survey?

1) You will first receive the survey itself.  This is a two-part survey that includes 92 multiple-choice questions.  It typically takes about 30 minutes to complete.

2) When the survey is returned and analyzed, you will then receive the final report, which is an analysis of the values you have selected.  This report discusses goal values (values you seek) and support values (values you use to get goal values).  It describes each of your selected values based on levels of development.

3) You also receive a comparison of your value chart against the overall database associated with your criteria (gender, age, occupation, etc).

Please note : ALL of the information collected is confidential. Any specific data that identifies you (such as name and address) are removed by the coders.  After the survey is returned to you, all identifying data is stripped from the survey before entry into the master database.  Your value survey (without personal identification) is included in the international database in order that we can make these types of comparisons and studies.  No data is ever sold or made available to others.
