Values Research and Purpose
Values Research Nevertheless, people behave according to their own set of values. It would seem at least helpful for individuals and organizations to know exactly what those values are. CedarCreek VRC has been working for over ten years on a quantitative methodology for measuring values. Research indicates that there are specific and definable values that are shared, to some extent, by all peoples and both genders. There are obvious differences in how these values are expressed. However, the CedarCreek VRC Values Hierarchy is based on our research and the research of others and clearly defines 92 specific values that are quantifiable and measurable over time. Purpose Knowing the foundational elements of individual behavior can be very rewarding to the individual. Values do not act individually, but in concert with other values. The dynamic between individual values is almost as important as the values themselves. Knowing and understanding values and value relationships has proven a useful tool for many years in psychology and organizational studies. From the standpoint of the organization, it needs to be understood that organizations are the composite of individual values. Obviously, some individuals carry more authority in expressing their values to others, and this is important to know. Organizational value analysis is an extremely powerful tool in getting to the foundation of organizational behavior and understanding the areas of agreement and discord with any organization. The Point The POINT of this is to provide a quantitative methodology whereby individuals and organizations are measured and understood. These tools provide the ability to track values over time to also provide a sense of direction. The CedarCreek Values Survey has been used by large and small organizations and individuals around the world, and the information has provided benefit and increased individual and organizational performance. Confidentiality All data collected by CedarCreek VRC is completely confidential. Value Surveys are coded and all identifiable information removed. No data is ever sold. Composite data is entered into a large database for comparison by gender, nationality, age, and occupation (if applicable), but there is no method of tracking data to a specific individual. This is our promise. It is our single goal to better understand the foundation of human behavior without compromising any individual or organization. |
